Interview: Carlos Reygadas on Silent Light

Carlos Reygadas at the LFF Screening of Silent Light

Back in October during the London Film Festival I spoke to Mexican director Carlos Reygadas about his latest film Silent Light.

It opened in selected UK cinemas this week and is a visually stunning drama set in the Mennonite community in Northern Mexico.

It was presented in a gala screening at the Odeon West End and I spoke to Carlos the day after about the film and how it went down with the London audience.

The Dark Knight Prologue at the London IMAX

The Dark Knight launch at the London IMAX

[ad]

Over the last 24 hours Warner Bros have been screening the opening sequence of new Batman film The Dark Knight on IMAX cinemas in LANew York and London.

This afternoon I was at the London screening which was followed by a Q&A with producer Charles Roven.

The plan is for this prologue sequence to screen as an extended preview ahead of I Am Legend which opens in the US next Friday (and in the UK on Boxing Day).

The Dark Knight is the second Batman film in the current franchise directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale as the caped crusader.

About 6 sequences – including this opening scene – were actually filmed using 70mm IMAX cameras, which is a first for a Hollywood movie of this scale.

The rest of the film was shot in conventional 35mm and will be remastered for IMAX screens. In these cinemas, the 70mm sequences will fill up the screen and the 35mm scenes will appear in a ‘letterbox’ format.

However, in regular cinemas, the actual aspect ratio will stay the same.

The opening sequence of the film is about 6 minutes and is a bank robbery done by a team of robbers all wearing clown masks. Watching the imagery on an IMAX screen is impressive – the size and clarity is remarkable and should work a treat for a big budget action film like this.

The sequence follows a criminal gang as they circle a bank and break in. Plotwise there are a few interesting moments, notably a cameo from William Fichtner as a feisty bank teller and the moment where we actually get to see a big close-up of the villain of the piece.

As the scene ended there was a 1 minute montage of Batman standing on a roof top, James Gordon (Gary Oldman) destroying something with an axe and a quick run through some other scenes in the film which included a brief shot of the new bat bike – a model of which was in the foyer of the cinema.

Bat bike 3

Producer Charles Roven appeared after the footage ended and answered questions from the audience.

To summarise the Q&A, here is what he said:

 • The Joker will be a darker incarnation of the famous villain – but will still have some comic moments
 • 6 sequences will be in the IMAX format (mostly action set pieces or scenes with a big scope)
 • Like Batman Begins the film should be a PG-13
 • Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker because of his range and his initial meetings with Chris Nolan about the character
 • 3-D was never really considered as an option for the IMAX portions of the film
 • Prior to these Batman films he’d been trying to work with Nolan ever since he saw Memento
 • The Alfred/Bruce Wayne relationship continues
 • It is the first time Christian Bale has repeated a role
 • There is a sequence actually set in Hong Kong – they filmed a key sequence there where Batman jumps off a building. The idea of the setting was to get outside the world of Gotham and place it in a more believable context as a world city.
 • They aren’t even thinking about the villain for the next movie.
 • David Goyer, Chris Nolan and Jonathan Nolan wrote the first draft of the script and Jonathan wrote the later drafts whilst Chris was filming The Prestige.
 • The story is not directly based on anything by Frank Miller but has been influenced by him and other classic Batman writers.

I’m not sure if Warner Bros are going to release any of this footage online, as I’m guessing the idea is that more people will go and see I Am Legend with this prologue attached.

If you have any thoughts, questions or news, just leave a comment below.

The Dark Knight opens in the US on July 18th in the UK on July 25th

The Cinema Review: The Golden Compass

The Golden CompassThis week sees the release of eagerly anticipated fantasy film The Golden Compass.

It is based on the first book in Philip Pullman’s fantasy trilogy about a young girl’s coming of age in a parallel universe.

The central character is a young girl named Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards) who has grown up in the world of an Oxford college in a parallell universe.

Though similar in many ways to our world the most striking difference is that everyone has a dæmon – an animal that co-exists with them and follows them around.

Lyra and her dæmon Pantalaimon (voiced by Freddie Highmore) find out about the existence of “Dust“, a substance of great interest to her uncle Lord Asriel (Daniel Craig), the enigmatic Marisa Coulter (Nicole Kidman) and the ruling power known as The Magisterium.

When a friend of hers is kidnapped, Lyra journeys to the North in order to find him where she encounters a variety of characters including a witch (Eva Green), an aeronaut (Sam Eliott) and an armoured bear (voiced by Ian McKellen).

The Cinema Review: The Assassination of Jesse James / Hitman / The Nines

This week we review The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Hitman and The Nines.

The Cinema Review: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford / Hitman / The Nines

The Assassination Of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford – An unusual look at the iconic western outlaw Jesse James with Brad Pitt in the lead role and Casey Affleck as his assassin Robert Ford. Taking a slow and unconventional approach, it examines the myth of James and details the final phase of his life where he tries to evade justice and retreats to his trusted inner circle. Directed by Andrew Dominik (who made Chopper in 2000) and shot by Roger Deakins.

Hitman – Based on the popular computer game franchise this sees Timothy Olyphant (last seen as the villain in Die Hard 4) play Agent 47, a secret assassin who performs hits for a shadowy organisation. Only after a job in Russia he is double crossed and has to find out why with the help of a prostitute (Olga Kurylenko), whilst having to deal with an Interpol agent (Dougray Scott) on his tail. Directed by Xavier Gens.

The Nines – Writer and director John August has made a film split into three sections with Ryan Reynolds, Hope Davis and Melissa McCarthy in the lead roles. The first is about an actor going through rehab in his own house, the second features a reality show about an actual TV show and the third is about a video game designer whose car breaks down on an isolated road.

Sundance Film Festival: Lineup Announced

Sundance 2008 LineupThe line up for the Sundance Film Festival has been announced.

Todd McCarthy of Variety has printed a detailed breakdown of what’s on and the official press release can be found here.

The director of the festival, Geoffrey Gilmore says:

The broad range of cinematic expression in this year’s Festival is found not simply in terms of the volume of submissions or its demographics but in the variety of types of filmmakers and the issues they explore.

This year we are seeing a convergence of storytelling and art that truly illustrates the spectrum of what is possible in film.

John Cooper, the Director of Programming, also said:

The creativity, urgency and passion of this year’s filmmakers are palpable, proving that independent filmmaking is alive and well not only in the U.S. but throughout the world.

The amount of high-quality work submitted from a diverse range of filmmakers made our jobs difficult this year. The Competition program is funny, spirited, human, and at times uncharacteristically optimistic about the world we live in.

There’s quite a few interesting films set to premiere there but here are some that caught my eye:

In Bruges – The opening film is about two hit men (played by Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) who end up hiding out in the Belgian town of Bruges. Martin McDonagh – who won an Oscar for his short film Six Shooter – directs.

Choke — An adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s novel directed by Clark Gregg. It purports to be about about mother and son relationship and “the dark side of historical theme parks” with Sam Rockwell, Anjelica Huston and Kelly MacDonald.

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh — Based on Michael Chabon’s novel (the man who wrote Wonder Boys and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay), it explores the summer of a recent college graduate in Pittsburgh. Jon Foster, Peter Sarsgaard, and Sienna Miller star. Rawson Marshall Thurber directs.

Sugar Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck had a startling debut with Half Nelson last year return with this tale of a Dominican baseball player named Miguel “Sugar” Santos, who was recruited from his native country to play in the U.S. minor leagues.

Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired – A documentary about the Polish director by Marina Zenovich which covers examines the scandals and tragedies which led to him fleeing the United States.

Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr Hunter S ThompsonAlex Gibney directs this documentary about the late writer which will apparently explore his drinking, drug taking and writing, focusing on the years 1965 to 1975. Featuring clips of rare home movies, audiotapes and passages from unpublished manuscripts it looks like a treat for fans of the late writer.

The festival runs from the 17th to the 27th of January in Park City, Utah.

vTap – Mobile video website

vTapHave you ever wanted to watch videos on your mobile phone?

If you are lucky enough to have an iPhone then you will probably have been impressed by their impressive YouTube application, but what about other phones and video sites?

One site I came across recently was vTap – which allows you to search different video sites and then watch them on your mobile.

Previously I’d used the mobile version of YouTube but it was a little frustrating as it only featured a limited amount of videos.

After trying vTap on my Nokia 6120 Classic I was very impressed – not only did it work but you have (as far as I could tell) the full library of YouTube and other video sites.

Not only do you have access to more videos, but on a 3G connection the download time is quick and playback is pretty smooth.

Another nice feature is that you can select the download speed depending on your connection and even just get the audio of the video, if you so wish.

Check out their website for a list of compatible phones or just punch http://m.vtap.com into your mobile browser to check out the site.

The company behind vTap is called Veveo and here is a video of co-founder and CEO Murali Aravamudan explaining the idea behind the site:

It is worth noting that video on your mobile can be expensive if you don’t have an unlimited data plan (which I do), so make sure you check this before giving the site some heavy use.

The Cinema Review: The Darjeeling Limited / Rescue Dawn

This week we take a look at The Darjeeling Limited and Rescue Dawn.

The Cinema Review: The Darjeeling Limited / Rescue Dawn

The Darjeeling Limited is the fifth film from director Wes Anderson and stars Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman and Adrien Brody as three estranged brothers who go on a train journey through India. On the way they bicker and discover things about their family and themselves. Like Anderson’s previous films it looks great, has a fantastic soundtrack and features lots of well-to-do characters getting up to quirky things.

Rescue Dawn sees legendary director Werner Herzog revisit the subject of his 1997 documentary Little Dieter Needs to Fly, with a feature film about Dieter Dengler. He was a German-born US fighter pilot who was shot down over Laos during the Vietnam war. He was then a POW for several months before managing to escape and surviving an epic struggle through the jungle. Christian Bale plays Dengler and Steve Zahn is his fellow POW named Duane Martin. All the usual Herzog themes are here and there are some suprising twists too.

Project Speechless at Deadline Hollywood Daily

Speechless WGA videosNikki Finke‘s blog Deadline Hollywood Daily has been required reading for anyone with an interest in the Writers Guild strike.

Now she is hosting a series of videos on the issue featuring high profile Screen Actors Guild members such as Holly Hunter, Sean Penn, Harvey Keitel and Laura Linney.

As she puts it:

For the first time in the TV and movie industry, high-profile SAG actors are together taking their talents directly and exclusively to the Internet, the very medium which is at the center of the current WGA labor strike against the Alliance Of Motion Picture & Television Producers.

The project, conceived by director/writer George Hickenlooper and writer Alan Sereboff, will be releasing three videos here in the morning, afternoon and evening throughout this weekend.

She has also said:

In the interest of fairness and objectivity, I would be more than pleased to announce and initially host a similar campaign conceived by members of AMPTP.

I wonder if the AMPTP will take her up on that offer?

But until they do this is the first WGA video and it features Holly Hunter:

It is another example of the WGA using the internet to their advantage – not only is it a clever use of the medium but it cuts right to the heart of the issues at stake.

Writers Strike Videos

WGA StrikeWeek 2 of the Writers Strike saw the WGA say they will resume talks with the studios on November 26th, Presidential candidate John Edwards join the picket lines, Oliver Stone’s latest film Pinkville get postponed, George Clooney donate money to a fund for striking writers, trade paper Variety be accused of bias towards the studios and the Wikipedia entry for the strike get ever more detailed.

But what struck me this week was how much better the writers have been in getting their side of the argument across, especially with all the videos being posted to sites like YouTube.

An observation by Nikki Finke on her Deadline Hollywood Daily blog really struck home:

…if the AMPTP produced even one amusing — or any — YouTube videos for their cause, I’d gladly link to them here.

I suppose the studios and the AMPTP just want to keep relatively quiet and ride out the initial storm but I think they’ve made a mistake in not being more pro-active in getting across their views – and this is despite the fact that their parent companies own many major media outlets.

Whilst they have the financial upper hand (after all it is their profits the writers want a fair slice of), they may have already lost the information war for the forseeable future.

Check out the following videos made by (and about) striking writers to see why.

Voices of Uncertainy – a clever video that uses the words of media moguls against them.

The Office is Closed
– Two of the guys behind the US version of The Office, Greg Daniels (showrunner) and Mike Schur (writer and actor) explain why they are on strike. For fans of this show (which let us not forget has a significant fanbase online) this is quite a damning critique of NBC’s attitude to new media.

Not The Daily Show, With Some Writer
– For fans of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, which is currently off their air, this is a very witty alternate version from the picket line with Jason Ross, one of the 14 writers on the show.

The AMPTP Rally
– A pointed but funny take on what a one man AMPTP picket line would look like.

And then there are the videos which are less polemical:

WGA Strike: A Love Story

Werner Herzog on Rescue Dawn

Werner Herzog directing Christian Bale and Steve Zahn in Rescue Dawn

In a career spanning over 40 years director Werner Herzog has created some of the most remarkable films in modern cinema.

From his early works like Signs of Life, his collaborations with actor Klaus Kinski (Aguirre: Wrath of God, Nosferatu and Fitzcarraldo), dramas such as Heart of Glass and Stroszek, through to more recent films like Grizzly Man, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to create dazzling cinema in extreme circumstances.

His latest film is Rescue Dawn, which is the story of Dieter Dengler, a German-born US fighter pilot who was shot down over Laos during the Vietnam war. He was a POW for several months before somehow managing to escape after an epic struggle through the jungle.

He first covered the story in his 1997 documentary Little Dieter Needs to Fly and now Rescue Dawn is a feature film of the same story with Christian Bale in the lead role of Dengler.

I spoke with Werner in London recently about the film and other aspects of his career.

The web in general is a rich source for movie reviews (especially review hubs like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes) but a couple of reviewers who caught my eye on YouTube recently were The Reel Geezers.

It is a video review posted on the site by veteran screenwriter Lorenzo Semple Jnr (who wrote The Parallax View and Papillion) and producer Marcia Nasatir (whose credits include The Big Chill and Hamburger Hill) and produced by Heather Finnegan.

What I like about this kind of content is that you have two very experienced people doing something very simple – in this case, talking about recent movies they’ve seen.

Whilst they often disagree both have interesting takes on current cinema releases. Plus, it is also funny to see them squabble about things like the use of the F-word in Superbad.

Check out their review of Michael Clayton here:

Not only do I agree with both of them but they bring up some interesting points: how it resembles a smart 70s thriller like Three Days of the Condor (which Lorenzo wrote and Sydney Pollack directed); how Warner Brothers messed up up the marketing and distribution; why George Clooney is particularly good in it; why the opening scene is brilliant; the refreshing lack (yes, lack) of exposition; the satisfying ending and the simple fact that (in Lorenzo’s words) you should “go see it”.

When it comes to a choice between some slickly produced red carpet puff piece on E! or something like this, I’ll choose this every time.

Trailer: No Country for Old Men

I saw No Country for Old Men this week, which is an adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel directed by the Coen Brothers.

It is easily one of the best films I’ve seen this year and right up there with the finest work Joel and Ethan have done.

Here is the trailer:

It is out now in the US and opens in the UK on January 18th.

The Cinema Review: American Gangster / Beowulf / Brick Lane

This week we review American Gangster, Beowulf and Brick Lane.

The Cinema Review 16-11-07

American Gangster is the true life story of New York crime boss Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) who created a drug empire in the early 70s by importing cheap heroin direct from Asia. Directed by Ridley Scott it explores how a New York cop Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) discovered and exposed his operation.

Beowulf is the big budget animated version of the old English poem about a medieval warrior (Ray Winstone) who travels to a kingdom plagued by a monster named Grendel. When Beowulf defeats it, he has to deal with the mother (Angelina Jolie), who is an altogether different proposition. Using motion capture technology, director Robert Zemeckis creates a 3-D version of the tale.

Brick Lane is the adaptation of Monica Ali’s best selling book about a Bangladeshi woman (Tannishtha Chatterjee) who settles in East London with a loveless marriage to her husband (Satish Kaushik). Feeling isolated and trapped she has an affair with a younger man (Christopher Simpson). Directed by Sarah Gavron.

Beowulf Press Conference at the London IMAX

I went along to the BFI IMAX recently to see the new Beowulf film in 3-D directed by Robert Zemeckis.

It uses motion capture technology to retell the old English poem and Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Crispin Glover, producer Steve Starkey plus writers Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman discussed it afterwards at the press conference.

The interior was decked out in a medieval theme with drummers, wooden barrels and candles.

I’ll post a full review of the film in the podcast on Friday but until then here are some photos I took of the day:

The Writers Strike on the web

WGA Strike 2007I got a few emails recently about the current writers strike in the US and whether it would have an effect on any films or TV shows showing in the UK.

Initally I’d held off writing anything in depth about it as it felt a little distant from me, plus other people were covering it better and in more depth. But to make up for my slackness, here is a longer-than-usual post on the whole affair.

The short answer to the question as to whether it will affect shows in the UK is “probably (given how many US shows are imported here), but it depends how serious the strike gets”. For a longer answer, more information and useful links about the strike itself, read on.

If you follow it on the web, you might note how much of the coverage comes not only from established media but from different journalists, bloggers, people inside the entertainment industry and the strikers themselves.

To recap, it is a strike by the Writers Guild of America (on both East and West coasts) that started last Monday. The WGA is the union that represents film, television, radio and new media writers working in the United States.

Strike outside Warner Bros

Every three years, the Writers Guilds negotiate a new contract with the studios and the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers)- the body which represents them. The dispute is about the new contract and the issue of residuals – the payments writers receive when their work is shown in different formats (e.g. DVD, cable, foreign TV).

Unsurprisingly, the writers feel they are being paid too little, whilst the studios don’t want to pay them more with uncertainty over new formats and how the industry will be affected by changes in technology. The WGA has proposed doubling the residual rate for DVD sales, which would mean a payment of about eight cents (up from the current four cents) for every DVD sold.

However, aside from the DVD dispute is the much more pressing issue of residuals for online content. At the moment, the WGA has no deal with the studios regarding films or TV shows sold via iTunes or streamed or downloaded online. This is a huge sticking point as it is widely assumed that online distribution will take over from DVD as the primary means for distribution.

Added to the already poisonous atmosphere, there is much lingering resentment from the 20-year-old deal the WGA signed for home video – in essence the writers felt that they were not compensated for the hefty profits the studios made when DVD gradually took over from VHS in the last 10 years.

Strikers in New York

Now the WGA is refusing to make any similar concessions in for so-called “new media” – which they would argue is not so new after all. WGA members are determined that the next deal can’t be like the residuals they got for DVDs.

However, the studios the studios have refused to consider changing the formula. Their argument is that DVD sales are necessary to offset rising production and marketing costs. They have further insisted that the current DVD formula be applied to residuals in New Media (which covers any content sold via the web e.g. iTunes or download sites like Amazon Unbox).

They would also probably argue that developments in technology are radically altering the entertainment landscape and point to the music industry as an example of how difficult predicting the future can be.

YouTube didn’t exist three years ago and now copyrighted content appears there daily (albeit in 10 minute chunks). And what is the residual rate really worth if the next generation of users are downloading films and TV shows for free from sites like The Pirate Bay?

Birds eye view of strikers

I guess the the studios feel they can ride out a strike – the last major one in 1988 dragged on for 5 months and cost the entertainment industry an estimated $500 million. There are contingency plans (such as stockpiled shows and repeats) but the situation will get much much worse if other entertainment unions decide to join them in a wider shutdown of productions.

In July next year, the key contracts of the other two major industry unions – the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and Directors Guild of America (DGA) – are set to run out. If all three can’t broker an agreement with the studios, they would almost certainly engage in a wider strike that would cripple Hollywood.

What’s interesting about following a story like this on the web is the depth and breadth of information from the parties involved and those commenting on it.

Here are some sites and links that are worth checking out:

Plus, there are plenty of established bloggers providing excellent coverage as the strike goes on:

If you see any useful links then do leave them in the comments section below or just email me.

In the meantime check out this video by Field of Dreams writer and director Phil Alden Robinson in which he explains the history of the WGA and why the strike has happened:

Hotel Chevalier to screen in the UK

Hotel ChevalierGood news for Wes Anderson fans. The short film Hotel Chevalier will screen ahead of UK showings of The Darjeeling Limited when the film opens in a couple of weeks.

Here is the official press release:

Wes Anderson’s short film HOTEL CHEVALIER will screen in cinemas across the UK with THE DARJEELING LIMITED, when it opens on November 23rd, through Twentieth Century Fox.

The brief coda to a doomed romance and the prologue to THE DARJEELING LIMITED, the 12-minute HOTEL CHEVALIER is set in a hotel room in Paris, and stars Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman.

Since its release in the US, THE DARJEELING LIMITED has been performing extremely well at the box office and continues to expand into more screens.

HOTEL CHEVALIER was originally available exclusively as a download on the Apple site in the US. According to recent US press reports, download numbers were close to 500,000, making it one of Apple’s most successful ever.

In THE DARJEELING LIMITED, three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other – to become brothers again like they used to be.

Their “spiritual quest”, however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray), and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine.

At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins. Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman star in this film about their adventure and their friendship.

After seeing The Darjeeling Limited with Hotel Chevalier attached I was a little puzzled that they initailly released it in the US without it.

But I’m glad they’ve decided to put them together as they fit perfectly and it adds a little extra to the film as shorts are a little unusual these days in front of mainstream features.

Neil Innes and Carol Cleveland on Monty Python

Carol and NeilThis week sees the release of a new batch of Monty Python DVD titles including Monty Python’s The Life Of Brian: The Immaculate Edition and Monty Python Live At The Hollywood Bowl.

I recently spoke to Neil Innes and Carol Cleveland about the DVD releases and their roles in the world of Monty Python. Both worked closely with the legendary comic outfit on numerous projects.

Neil played a major role in performing and writing songs and sketches for Monty Python’s Flying Circus, wrote the songs for Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and appeared in the film as a head-bashing monk, the serf crushed by the giant wooden rabbit, and the leader of Sir Robin’s minstrels.

He also performed with the Pythons on stage, including at their legendary Hollywood Bowl concert where he performed the songs “How Sweet to Be an Idiot” and “I’m the Urban Spaceman.” He would go on to work with Eric Idle on the Python-esque sketch show Rutland Weekend Television, which spawned The Rutles (the “prefab four”), a Beatles parody band, in which Innes played the character of Ron Nasty.

Carol performed various roles with the Pythons in “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”, Live at The Hollywood Bowl, Life of Brian, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail and has been referred to as “The Female Python”.

The Cinema Review: Lions for Lambs / Into the Wild / Planet Terror

This week the cinema releases under the microscope are Lions for Lambs, Into the Wild and Planet Terror.

The Cinema Review 09-11-07

Lions for Lambs is a drama dealing with the current war on terror by focusing on three interconnected stories: a Senator (Tom Cruise) briefs a journalist (Meryl Streep) about a new government strategy for Afghanistan conflict; a college professor (Robert Redford) tries to awaken a promising but apathetic student (Andrew Garfield); and two US soldiers (Michael Pena and Derek Luke) become stranded on an Afghan mountain.

Into the Wild is Sean Penn‘s fourth film as a director and tells the true story of Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch), who dropped out of his middle class background to wander the US for two years, before living in the wilds of Alaska. Along the way he meets a variety of characters amidst the backdrop of the American landscape. Catherine Keener, Hal Holbrook, Jena Malone, Marcia Gay Harden and William Hurt co-star.

Planet Terror is the other half of the Grindhouse project, where Robert Rodriguez teamed up with Quentin Tarantino to make a double bill of exploitation-style films. Sadly, the film was split in two after a disappointing run at the US box office. Death Proof was the Tarantino film and now Rodriguez’s is released here. It is the tale of a mysterious green mist that turns a Texan town into zombies and a group of survivors (that includes Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez and Michael Biehn) who must escape.
