Coffee and Celluloid<\/a> have compiled an interesting list of 25 Movies About Music You Haven’t Seen<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n There are some interesting entries along with video clips but my pick is\u00a0Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story<\/a>.<\/p>\n Directed by\u00a0Todd Haynes<\/a>\u00a0in 1987, it is 43 minutes long and tells the story\u00a0the life of pop vocalist\u00a0Karen Carpenter<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The interesting thing about it is that nearly all the characters are\u00a0played by modified\u00a0Barbie<\/a>\u00a0dolls.<\/p>\n Released in 1987 it was withdrawn from release in 1990 after Haynes lost a copyright\u00a0lawsuit\u00a0filed by Karen’s\u00a0brother and musical collaborator,\u00a0Richard Carpenter<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you haven’t seen it – and there is a good chance of that as it has been banned since 1990 – then you should check out the version posted on\u00a0Google Video<\/a>\u00a0here:<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
