At the New York Film Critics Awards<\/a> dinner last night\u00a0Brolin was remarkably candid about his American Gangster<\/a> co-star Russell Crowe<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After winning\u00a0Best Supporting Actor for his role in\u00a0Milk<\/a>\u00a0and being introducedby co-star\u00a0Sean Penn<\/a>\u00a0Brolin said:<\/p>\n

Quite an actor, Sean Penn. And not an a-hole like Russell Crowe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He then apparently repeated Crowe’s name just in case anyone missed it:<\/p>\n

Like Russell Crowe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He also had some choice words for New York Times theatre critic Ben Brantley<\/a>, who pissed him off with this negative review from 2000<\/a> when Brolin was in a production of Sam Shepard’s play ‘True West’, saying:<\/p>\n

I hate that motherf***er.\u00a0And I don’t think he’s a good writer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to Fox News he was sort of joking<\/a>:<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a great guy. It\u2019s all good. He has his thing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This hot on the heels of the release of his arrest back in July<\/a> whilst filming W in Louisiana.<\/p>\n

His performance as the 43rd president<\/a> was one of the most underrated of the year and his turn in Milk<\/a> as Dan White<\/a> is simply terrific.<\/p>\n
