The renowned French composer\u00a0Maurice Jarre<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0died recently<\/a>\u00a0in Los Angeles at the age of 84.<\/p>\n He is best known for his\u00a0scores<\/a>\u00a0to the films of David Lean<\/a>, such as Lawrence of Arabia<\/a>\u00a0(1962),\u00a0Doctor Zhivago<\/a>\u00a0(1965), and\u00a0A Passage to India<\/a>\u00a0(1984), all three of which won him\u00a0Academy Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n Other notable scores of his include\u00a0Witness<\/a>\u00a0(1985),\u00a0Dead Poets Society<\/a>\u00a0(1989) and\u00a0Ghost<\/a>\u00a0(1990).<\/p>\n His last public appearance was in February at the Berlin Film Festival<\/a>, where he won a lifetime award<\/a>.<\/p>\n Here is a medley of his film work:<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
